Yes. Heath Village was established in 1966. The majority of our executive, business and administrative staff have long employment histories with the Village. An annual report is available by request.

Our 200+ acre campus is situated in scenic western Morris County, NJ, convenient to both NYC and the Poconos, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, doctors and other services.

Heath Village is a not-for-profit community.

Depending on our occupancy at the time you’re looking, there may be a wait. However, putting your name on our waiting list with your application and fee will begin the process. When your housing choice becomes available, we’ll call you. If you’re not ready, don’t worry—you will not lose your place on the wait list.

At Heath Village, you do not have to be independent upon move-in. Unlike other retirement communities, you can enter at any level. We offer four levels of living, and we’ll work with you to make the optimal decision based on your health status and physical ability.

We offer four levels of living:

  • Independent apartments, cottages and Garden and Terrace Homes
  • Apartments (independent with supplemental services)
  • Mayflower House residential health care center (24-hour supervision)
  • Clarence W. Sickles Health Care Center (comprehensive nursing)

Our housing options include rent/lease agreements, and entrance options will be available in our new expansion neighborhoods.

No. One of the benefits of joining the Heath Village community is that you can make this your home forever—because our four-level living platform is there for you as your needs change.

We understand that no two lifestyles are the same—and that financial freedom is an important part of independence. That’s why Heath Village offers both rental and entrance fee options, so you can choose the financial model that best suits your priorities and goals.

The community fee is non-refundable after 4 months. If you opt to leave within the first four months, your community fee is refundable on a pro-rated basis.

Your monthly fee covers electric, heat/air conditioning, water, trash and recycling collection, on-campus activities, emergency call pendants and use of laundry services. On-campus club cart transportation is available on a first come, first served basis. Scheduled bus transportation to local stores during the week and church services on Sundays are also covered by your monthly fee.

Upon moving into Heath Village, we strongly suggest that you have a doctor nearby; however, if you have your own local doctors, you can continue using them as well. We have listings of local doctors, including some who keep hours right here at the Village. Local pharmacies provide pickup/delivery services.

Free transportation to local doctors and Hackettstown Regional Medical Center is available Monday through Friday during specified hours on a first come, first served basis.

There are a variety of plans available. In Heath House (hotel-style living), Mayflower, and the Health Care Center, the meal plan is included in your monthly fee (3 meals per day). Independent resident monthly meal plans are available for purchase at a discounted rate and can be used in the Village Café, The Heritage Room and Musconetcong Grille.
